Nuke the Whales was a rock & roll band formed in Huntsville, Alabama in the fall of 1980. Members Walter Berry, Phil Proctor, Philip Franklin, John Harris, and Tommy Shepard chronicle their misadventures through the world of fantasy, make believe, super-stardom and institutionalized rehabilitaion over the past twenty-five years. The Whales reunited for one SRO show at the place where it all started, The Kaffeeklatsch, on December 23, 2005.
After months of painstaking deliberations, the Whales decided they'd better actually get together and see if they could still make musical noise in a somewhat cohesive manner. Surprise! The old magic was back! So was the other 90% of the NTW sound, for better or worse. Looky, looky, looky.
